Valentine’s Day Solar Flare

Many have asked what does a solar flare look like? Well above is a photo taken by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory February 14, 2011.

Looks like the new solar cycle is beginning to ramp up. The sun emitted its first X-class flare in more than four years ago.

X-class flares are the most powerful of all solar events that can trigger radio blackouts and long-lasting radiation storms.

Its note worthy to state that even though this event looks strong in nature, in fact it appears to be rather weak and is not expected to produce any strong effects at Earth other than perhaps some beautiful aurora in the high northern and southern latitudes.

Iraq War for Sale, the war profiteers

So watched this movie tonight called: Iraq War for Sale, the war profiteers by director: Robert Greenwald . Pretty good movie explaining how private contractors came into iraq and made a ton of cash by replacing services our own US military forced could do. Examples of these services are but not limited to: laundry, food preparation, truck transportation and securing perimeter. Some of the major players that where awarded most if not all contracts: Parsons (engineering & construction), DynCorp (police training), Transatlantic Traders (surveillance aircrafts I.e. Drones), Blackwater (soldiers on demand) and Halliburton (they received the rest of the logistics stuff). Blackwater wasn't bound by US military code of counduct so that went they could tourtchure and kill citizens of Iraq and never get in trouble, nice huh. Halliburton would charge $99 a bag of laundry to us the United States to provide a piss poor job while washing our troops laundry, $24 per 6 pack of soda which wasn't made in america...it was made in Iraq with arabic letters in all on the wrapper. I'm sad that our poor soldiers and the staff to all these contractors got screwed over so that the stock holders could make bank. Ill be adding another blog post on Halliburton and the rest of the contractors listed here soon.

No End in Sight

Just finished watching this movie made in 2007 by director: charles ferguson and I tell you it was an eye opener. I just like most americans during this time where either too caught up in their own lives, distracted by the media or just plain dumb and didn't want or know that they should pay attention to what was happening. So in this movie various high ranking military officials were interviewed and stated plain as day facts that IF implemented we wouldn't still be in Iraq present day. It makes me sad for all those valiant soldiers that lost their lives, that they did that all to line up a few ppls pockets with tons of cash. How are you going to go and take over a place and not provide food, water, work and security to the folks living there. Let's fire all the local military units and the police...because that makes sense...perhaps if we had went in with more soldiers as suggested by all generals that where on the ground there in Iraq not in a suit at the pentagon. So the military and police personal who are very well trained suddenly by no fault of their own have no way to provide for their families. Engineers, teachers, political and other professionals loose their jobs too. So what is one to do? Where I'm from...people that can't get jobs and live is crappy living areas team up to help each other out...we call that area "the gettho" and the ppl working together a "gang"...the US government calls them insurgents and the place Iraq. Oh and the only area given explicit orders to protect.....wait for it....the oil fields...nice huh
